Heite Consulting Incorporated is a Delaware-based archæological consulting firm, founded by Edward "Ned" Heite in 1980.
We provide services for clients in the mid-Atlantic region seeking professional guidance in federal, state, or locally triggered cultural resource surveys.
We know Delaware. We have decades of experience in Delaware. We know Delaware well enough to know when something isn't significant. We will make that case for you. And we know the neighboring states as well!
WE PROVIDE:
Fast, efficient, effective information on whether any sites are known; whether any sites can be identified from the known information; and whether any sites can reasonably be expected on the property and where they are. We then investigate the property to identify problem areas. We can provide you with a confidential assessment of the property with alternatives so that you can decide whether the economics are there for the project to proceed. If your property is already subject to regulatory oversight, we can guide you through the process, and resolve your legal obligations.
Heite Consulting employs five full-time archæologists, including four on the Register Of Professional Archæologists, with backgrounds in field and analytical techniques, historic, prehistoric, scientific, and industrial archæology. We are experienced in all phases of archæological investigation with a demonstrated ability to produce excavation strategies and reports at or above the standards set by the State Historic Preservation Offices in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Through our parent company, we have completed projects in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
